Step Back in Time to the 1880's
Sit back and relax as we create your personalized 1880s “Step Back in Time” experience with the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and the Grand Imperial Hotel! Your trip begins with a departure from the 1881 Durango Depot to travel the rails behind an authentic steam-powered locomotive along the route built to haul silver and gold from the mining town of Silverton. In Silverton, experience the beauty and elegance of the refurbished 1883 Grand Imperial Hotel.
Before boarding, check your luggage with the Ticket Office personnel and it will be waiting in your hotel room upon your arrival in Silverton. Your historic experience continues when the train pulls into town and you stroll the short two blocks to the Grand Imperial Hotel. As you enter the lobby, appreciate that the name of the hotel truly tells it all. The Grand Imperial Hotel has been refurbished over the winter of 2015-16 to grandeur that exceeds the original standards when it was built in 1882.
